Here we are back to
talk about geeky things, after my absence that lasted a few months
I’m back now, your favourite narrator that will help you to orient
yourselves in the dark world of technology and it’s diversions:
games, anime, Tv series.
It was a hell of a
period, moreover it is not finished yet because I still have an oral
exam in a week.
But today I’m not
here to talk about myself or apologize for being gone; today I’m
here to tell you about an anime that I watched today for the first
time in months.
For the smartest of
you, yes, I’m talking about Island.
I apologize ahead of time if the article may be here and there a bit confused, because the matter is a bit mixed up, hopefully this is what the director wanted to achieve…
The episode starts,
as most of the times, in medias res
with the protagonist naked on the beach and, no it is not a porn, he
is found by a high school girl named Karen (I think) that stumbles
and puts her face on his pee-pee giving to the spectator in just 2
minutes the first Fanservice moment of the series.
It
is clear from the beginning the direction that the plot will take,
unfortunately (maybe not)
for me I decided to keep going.
The
misterious protagonist is taken to a police station where (in
front of
a police officer) he says that he is a time traveller, that has come
to save a girl and the future of human race and he also has to kill a
guy. The police officer who is in perfect control of himself asks him
if a disc that has been found on the beach is his.
Are
you kidding me.
No
I’m serious, Are you kidding me? This weirdo tells you that wants
to kill someone and you ask him if the CD is his?! Moreover, who in
the world uses Cds any more? In 2018? Come on guys! Ultra flash
storage, 5Tb Ssd the size of a thumb and he wanders around with a
180Mb CD come on!
Anyway
Our
integer and great police officer would let him stay on the Island but
his boss/city major/Karen-chan’s father wants him gone.
And
the episode goes on, I don’t want to spoil everything, I already
said more than I would have, now let’s talk serious for a second
(also if I was serious even ridiculizing big errors/decisions that
have been made):
1)
What we, the spectator, knows is seen from the perspective of Tetsuna
(may be the protagonist’s name), this choice is widely used but
this time helps the public empathize the carachter and the whole
atmosphere is way more effective, particularly if they use that
strange fish-eye technique more because the setting becomes
claustrophobic (they
used it just once in the whole episode)
2)
There appears to be something generating singularities from which
have come out both the protagonist and the carachter that puts him up
that is, moreover,
somewhat allergic to sunlight and
she says that the sun may kill her
(The fact that they have made known a carachter’s weakness may mean
essentially two things: (1) She is going to die dumbly to save her
beloved (2) This is going to become a love story between the guy that
wandered during daylight and the girl who singed to the stars (cool
huh? Maybe we’ll see)).
3)
Too much fanservice until now, there have been a few scenes that had
no sense at all (like the one from the police station) and everything
is covered by a very thick layer of fanservice for example:

-The
scene of the temple he talked about the girl's boobs, why? It was the only
thing it remembered about her but still I don’t understand
I
don’t know, I’m so annoyed by all this fake-romance because
animeX (my streaming provider) carachterized it as a thriller but
until now it has been less thrilling than what I expected.
Until
now my judgenment has been very severe because too many things have
been
left there and
need some kind of explanation and most of the times when a series
begins this way will brush
off a sort of explanation type of thing in the end that will not be
enough to cover all the questions that have
been left
open in the beginning.
Here
there are some of the questions that I want answered:
1)
How the weirdo got on the Island? Is he really a time traveller or
what he experiences are some kind of allucination?
2)
How the protagonist is connected to the three girls he met until now?
(temple girl, the girl that hosts him and Karen)
3)
There is someone that must be killed, why? Who? Is it himself of the
past (assumed that he really is a time traveller)? Is a person with
the same name? Or is everything an allucination?
4)
Will he be able to remember who is he? Will he be able to remember
the place he comes from?
5)
Why is the world going to end? Who/what is going to end it?
These
are my questions, to know if they will be answered stay tuned, in the
meanwhile go check out my fancy channel on youtube where I record
gameplays
without commentary; just for the sake of doing that.
Hope
you guys enjoyed
See
Nya
