Golden Kamui first impression

Today I watched first episode of Golden Kamuy and I thought it to be really interesting for quite a few reasons:

-First of all, the plot looks surprisingly solid, the level of detail is (as always in anime) pretty insane and the setting in WWI is really interesting considering the fact that is unique and that there are not that many series talking about it in a realistic way, I feel that realism is one of the most important factors and that it is going to affect positively my judgement.

-Second of all style looks pretty average but charaters are cool and can be seen in situations that are different from typical ones, like gold quest and war scenes.

The concept of this character looks so cool, his self confidence and determination is overwhelming

The plot is about Saichi Sugimoto, a soldier survived to Russian-Japanese war (1904-1905), diserving the title of "Immortal Sugimoto", after the war he searches gold to cure the blindness of one of his ex-comerades (that died during the war), the quest is hard and long but an old man (who will try to kill him) teaches him the story of a man who hid many stolen money (something like 800000 yen) somewhere, he is imprisoned but reveals the positioning of the treasure to 24 prisoners and tatooes a piece of treasure map on each back, in the end these men are able to escape from prison. Saichi decides to look for the prisoners thinking that it will be much easier and Asirpa (a girl who will save him from a bear) will help him in his quest.

I really didn't like 3d animations, their graphics were poor and I personally think that could be done a better work, but that is not a very big complaint considering that the whole anime is in 2d and probably the realistic plot is the gratest strength of the series.

In the end I really liked this first episode, the whole story of "immortal Sugimoto" was really cool and I'm really looking forward to see the second episode.
